Sunday Bloody Sunday Hydrogen Drumbeat

U2's song, Sunday Bloody Sunday has quite a complicated drumbeat, so I decided to make a Hydrogen song out of it. I have done this for three reasons:

  1. So that drummers can look at the Hydrogen drumbeat patterns and work out how to play it.
  2. So that guitarists can play along to a decent drumbeat without getting their hands dirty.
  3. Because its just too cool.
I used the YamahaVintageKit by ArtemioLabs (Downloadable from here). Note that you will need this drumkit to play the Hydrogen song (.h2song format). The song is available from the links below:

iplace to ask a question so here i go. I was wondering if you could do a article on how to set a exernal editor with Ardour so after i get done reocrding a track i could open up audacity from Ardour and make edits, save and then have it reinsert back into ardour, sort of like Acid Pro and Soundforge.

Hey,

As far as I know it isn't possible to do what you're asking. The problem is that Audacity doesn't use the JACK audio connections kit.

What do you want to do with Audacity? You should be able to do all the things you want to using Ardour and JAMin. The only time I use Audacity is to convert my final exported .WAV to a .MP3.

Check out this link about adding JAMin as an insert:

Hope it helps,
Brian

Hey Jurgen,

Thanks for the feedback. Just try the link again. If you are connecting to the net via a firewall, it might be blocking it. If it still doesn't work please let me know.

Hi Brian,

I´m a complete newbie at DAW and found your blog very helpful. But, unfortunatelly when I tried to download the sundayblodysunday.h2song I recieved a message about the file missing location. I wonder if you could post it again.

By the way, congratulations on the initiative of sharing your experience with us,

Thomas
